JORDAN VOGT- ROBERTS: THE AMUSING DIRECTOR

The entertainment industry is filled with many creative people, yet getting recognized in this field is no easy. Jordan Vogt-Roberts, a film and television director is a name who has captured the attention in really less time with his films and series.

Jordan Vogt- Roberts Director of several entertaining films and series began his career with producing and directing the web series Book Club and Memoirs of a Manchild.  He has also directed most of the episodes of Single Dads.

With the innovation in his mind, he created the short film Mint in a Box from an episode of the web series Memoirs of a Manchild. After this, Vogt-Roberts wrote and directed Successful Alcoholics, this short movie was screened at more than 30 film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival. 

Jordan Vogt-Roberts has also directed the episodes forFunny or Die Presents and Death Valley in the year 2011, Mash Up in the year 2012, and seasons for You’re the Worst in 2014 and 2019.Apart from the films and series, Jordan has directed the commercials Destiny 2 and Player Unknown’s Battleground.

He made his debut in feature films with The Kings of Summer that was premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. This comedy-drama was also screened at Cleveland International Film Festival and the 2013 Dallas International Film Festival where it won the Narrative Feature Audience Award.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts has directed a comedy film Nick Offerman: American Ham that came in the year 2014. He is also the director of the monster film Kong: Skull Island that came in the year 2017, the movie grossed 565 million dollars worldwide.

He is now directing a film for Sony Pictures based on the action game series Metal Gear. In several interviews, he has revealed how passionate he is for video games. He also described his meeting with Hideo Kojima, the creator of the game to discuss the making of the film.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts was born on September 22, 1984, in the United States and has spent his childhood in the Greater Detroit area. When he was 14, he moved to Arizona, however, he came back to Royal Oak Michigan in his senior year to graduate with his friends.  The director has studied from Dondero High School and Columbia College Chicago.
