Jordan Vogt-Roberts – Entertaining You With His Exceptional Direction
The entertainment industry has
seen some extraordinary people who have created history with their amazing
work. They have set high benchmarks for the coming generation, and it isn’t
easy to match their legacy. From magnificent actors to incredible directors and
producers, the list is prized with many admired names. An emerging personality
among such remarkable people is Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who has proved his mettle
with his astounding work.
Let’s start from the beginning,
Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts was born on 22nd September 1984. At the
age of 14, he moved to Arizona but came back to Royal Oak Michigan in his senior
year to graduate with his old friends. In 2003, he completed his early
education from Dondero High School and later
went for further studies at Columbia College Chicago, which he completed in
2006.
Jordan always had an interest in
movies and video games and began his career directing and producing the
episodes of 2 web series – Book Club (2009-2013) and Memoirs of a Manchild
(2009-2010), and he also directed most of the episodes of another web series –
Single Dads (2009-2011).
This gave him confidence in his
skills, and he used his innovation and creativity to convert a single episode
of Memoirs of a Manchild into a short film – Mint in a Box (2009). He wrote and
directed another short film – Successful Alcoholics in 2010, which was screened
at the American Film Institute (AFI) Fest, SXSW Film Festival, Sundance Film
Festival, and around 30 other film festivals.
Vogt-Roberts earned immense
popularity with his work, and he was called to direct Comedy Central’s Mash Up
as well as the episodes of MTV’s Death Valley, FX’s You’re the, Worst and Funny
or Die Presents. Jordan Vogt-Roberts director
feature debut film, The Kings of Summer, was screened at the Cleveland
International Film Festival, and the Sundance Film Festival.
Since then, he hasn’t looked back
and worked only with the vision to create outstanding movies. Talking about
outstanding, he created a masterpiece in 2017 – Kong: Skull Island, which was a
blockbuster, crossing more than $565 million at the global box office.
Jordan is presently directing a
film for Sony Pictures based on a series of Metal Gear. In many interviews, he
has repeatedly shown his fondness for video games and recounted his discussion
with Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear) about the making of the film.
With sheer determination and
talent, Jordan has gained eminence and made his name among top directors in the
industry. He has become an inspiration for many as he has proved with strong
