Jordan Vogt-Roberts commenced in the
field of entertainment by directing and producing two web series, Book Club and
Memoirs of a Manchild. He also directed the major portion of episodes for the
web series, Single Dads.
He made use of his innovative ideas to
craft a short film Mint in a box from an episode of the series, Memoirs of a
Manchild. After this, he wrote and directed a short film Successful Alcoholics that
was presented at several film festivals including SXSW Film Festival, AFI Fest,
and Sundance Film Festival.
He has directed the episodes for various
television series, including Funny or Die Presents, Mash-Up, Death Valley, and you’re
the Worst. Apart from it, he is also the director for the commercials Destiny 2
and Player Unknown’s Battleground.
The Kings of Summer, a comedy-drama
was the director’s debut in feature films that had its premiere at the 2013
Sundance Film Festival. The film was also presented at the Cleveland
International Film Festival and the 2013 Dallas International Film Festival,
where it won the Narrative Feature Audience Award.
In the year 2014, he has directed a comedy
film, Nick Offerman: American Ham. In the year 2017, Vogt-Roberts came up with
Kong: Skull Island, a monster film that earned $565 million globally. Jordan
Vogt-Roberts is directing a film based on the action-adventure video game
series Metal Gear. He has shown a passion for video games during the interviews
and recalled his meeting with Hideo Kojima to discuss the making of the film.
Talking of his personal life, he was
born in the United States on 22nd September 1984. He has spent his childhood in
the Greater Detroit Area and moved to Arizona at the age of 14. However, he
came back to Royal Oak, Michigan and graduated with his friends from his
hometown. He completed his academic degrees from Dondero High School in the
year 2003 and Columbia College Chicago in the year 2006.
